Why IF
What IF you or a loved one could live your best life without the shackles of addiction? What IF you had a guide, a mentor, a friend who has been where you have been, and can help lead you out of the darkness? What IF the loneliness of addiction and alcoholism could be replaced with a sense of belonging and community?
Founded on the idea that it is easier to get sober than to stay sober, the Inspiring Friends Foundation provides those without the financial means the ability to engage sober companions. We believe it is essential that those who are newly sober, or those struggling to maintain sobriety, have access to safe, confidential, personalized after care. We have seen all too often the negative effects of being dumped into the world after treatment with no skills, no community, and no understanding of how to live life on life’s terms after getting clean and sober. It takes time, it’s takes patience, and it takes strength. We at the Inspiring Friends Foundation are here to make sure you don’t have to do it alone.
How we started
Inspiring Friends was started by those in long term recovery who have dedicated their lives to working with recovering addicts and alcoholics. Our founders witnessed, first hand, the all too familiar heartbreak and pain that stems from the chronic disease of addiction. Having gone through recovery, having experienced the wreckage that addiction leaves in its path, and having faced the challenges of being newly sober, we saw the desperate need for better, more effective aftercare. As we passionately worked with families that could afford it, we soon realized that aftercare is still inaccessible for too many individuals and families struggling with addiction. The Inspiring Friends Foundation strives to provide cost effective or no cost sober companions to give those newly sober the best shot at staying sober.
Our Mission
Our mission is to shatter stigma, kindle compassion, and inspire at-risk individuals and families to live a more positive life with meaningful aftercare from addiction treatment recovery services.
How you can help
The Inspiring Friends Foundation strives to provide cost effective or no costs, compassionate after care for those recently released from treatment and those struggling in their sobriety that do not have the financial ability to higher sober companions. Your donation helps provide empathetic companionship, sense of community, educational opportunities, employment options, and a chance for those at risk to lead a sober, fulfilling life without drugs and alcohol.
